Privacy Policy

PERFECTPIKX (“we”, “us”) is an app for finding, sharing and recreating photo spots. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the PERFECTPIKX app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t show ads.
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider), name, username, and optional profile photo and bio.
- Content you post: photos, videos, stories, captions, tags, ratings, comments, likes, reposts, saved spots, outings, and messages you send to other users.
- Reports and blocks: if you report content or block someone, we store that so we can review reports and keep blocked people apart.
Information the app accesses on your device
- Camera and photo library, only when you choose to take or pick a photo or video. We may read the date a photo was taken so we can show it with your post.
- Location, only while you’re using the app, to show nearby spots, help navigate to a spot, and attach a place to your posts and stories. A post’s location is shared with the post.
- Contacts, only if you open “Invite friends”. Your contacts are read on your device so you can choose who to text an invitation; we do not upload your address book to our servers.
- Notifications, if you turn them on, so we can alert you about likes, comments and follows.
How we use information
- To run the app: create your account, show your posts to other people, and deliver messages and notifications.
- To show spots, maps, rankings and recommendations.
- To keep PERFECTPIKX safe: review reports, remove content that breaks our rules, and prevent abuse.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
What other people can see
Your profile and posts are public by default. You can make your account private in your profile settings, in which case only people you approve can see your posts. Messages are visible only to you and the person you send them to. You can block or report any user or post from the “…” or flag buttons.
Optional AI features
If you tap “Auto-fill” when posting, a reduced-size copy of the photo you chose is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to suggest a title and description. It only runs when you ask it to.
Service providers
We use trusted companies to run the service. They process information only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database, sign-in and account data.
- Cloudflare — storage and delivery of photos and videos.
- Anthropic — optional AI auto-fill (see above).
- Vercel — hosting of our website and web app.
- Map, place and photo-data providers (for example Apple Maps, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Mapillary, Wikimedia/Wikidata, and The Movie Database) — to display maps and spot information. Your search text or map area may be sent to them to return results.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect people’s safety.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time (see below), which permanently deletes your profile, posts, comments, messages, followers and related data. Because uploaded image files are stored separately, copies may remain in storage for a short time after deletion before they are purged.
Your choices
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Profile → the gear icon → Delete Account.
- Edit or remove your content: you can edit or delete your own posts, comments and stories in the app.
- Permissions: you can turn off camera, photos, location, contacts and notifications at any time in your device’s Settings.
- Access or correction requests: contact us at the address below.
Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal information. Contact us and we’ll help.
Children
PERFECTPIKX is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
